About the Artist
-Jeanette Vertentes
Jeanette Vertentes is an artist who has transformed her life experiences into vibrant, joyful works of art. A breast cancer and melanoma survivor, she discovered that painting was more than a passion—it was a source of healing and resilience. For Jeanette, creating daily is essential. Her seasonal gallery, Jeanette Vertentes Fine Art, reflects her journey of hope, gratitude, and love, where each painting tells a story rooted in positivity.
From her home studio in Watch Hill, surrounded by her four beloved dogs, Jeanette paints in a contemporary impressionistic style. With her palette knife, she layers colors and textures that bring her vision to life. Producing nearly 200 paintings each year, her work ranges from joyful florals to soulful still-life scenes, always with the intent to inspire happiness, movement, and a sense of healing in those who experience her art.
Purpose
Jeanette creates art to uplift and heal. Every canvas is an opportunity to share positivity, joy, and hope—emotions she carried through her own journey of resilience. Her mission is simple: to spread love through color and creativity.
Inspiration
Her inspiration comes from life itself—her triumphs as a cancer survivor, the beauty of nature, and moments of gratitude. Whether painting florals, shells, or abstract scenes, Jeanette infuses each piece with the emotions that inspire her to keep creating.
Style
Jeanette paints in a contemporary impressionistic style, using a palette knife to layer rich colors and textures. Even in still-life works, her paintings radiate movement and light. In her Hidden Heart Floral Series, she subtly weaves hearts into her art as symbols of love and connection.
